The primary (reactor loop) is cooled by secondary loop (steam systems) which does use seawater to condense the steam back to secondary feed water. And many boats have rested on the ocean bottom. Check your facts! This type of misinformation is why America is not building nuclear plants and attempting to rely on the most inefficient electric generating - solar. This is embarrassing

I like the idea of a nuclear reactor power a submarine and all of the benefits of stealth and extended time in service under water. After the horse we used steam engines in cars, trains, and boats, not so good in submarines. We did however find a way to power submarines on steam. The water cools a nuclear reactor. Some becomes steam. The steam runs everything. So the end even modern ships and submarines are just a different type of steam engine. It runs on nuclear decay instead of coal. Smokeless until it isn't working then it gets really rally smokey but not the kind you want.
