What really happened to the USS Scorpion?
A couple of theories center on the Mk. 32 torpedo either activating accidently, firing a torpedo with loss of torpedo control that allowed torpedo to come back and strike Scorpion, or the torpedo exploding in the torpedo room. Another leading theory involves accidental hydrogen gas explosion while recharging batteries.

WHY DID RUSSIANS BUILD SUBS BUT NOT CARRIERS?
Переглядів 1,3 тис.12 годин тому
WHY DID RUSSIANS BUILD SUBS BUT NOT CARRIERS? The Russian Navy was never really about force projection overseas like the US Navy is, it was always more defensive in nature. Shorter range ships, with less overseas bases to support their Navy. Carriers are really an offensive weapon. That and cost, the Russian Navy couldn’t afford them, and didn’t have all the experience of how to man and operate...

What Was a Typhoon Submarine Used For? In the 1970s, the Soviet Union embarked upon a new nuclear weapons program (code name: Typhoon) to develop a new missile-firing submarine and nuclear missiles. The subs (code name: Akula) were designed to be 566 feet long, 76 feet wide, and nearly 38 feet tall.
The Only Submarine to Sink Another Submarine

The Only Submarine to Sink Another Submarine. Submerged submarines have sunk many of their kind on the surface; but, in history, there has only been a single instance of one submarine sinking another when both boats were dived - and that was towards the end of World War . The victim was U-864 and the attacker, HMS VENTURER.
At What Depth Does a Submarine Fire a Missile?

At What Depth Does a Submarine Fire a Missile? Some early models had to surface to launch their missiles, but modern vessels typically launch while submerged at keel depths of usually less than 50 metres (160 ft). #usnavy #Submarine #Nuclearweapons #Ships #War #Missile #US Navy #nuclearsubmarine #aircraftcarrier #navy #russia #submarines #nuclear #military #typhoon-classsubmarine

Russia Loses Last Typhoon-Class Submarine - Dmitry Donskoy
Wow high level of competence!
This is so wrong it is embarrassing. Cooling for the reactor has nothing to do with seawater. The primary (reactor loop) is cooled by secondary loop (steam systems) which does use seawater to condense the steam back to secondary feed water. And many boats have rested on the ocean bottom. Check your facts! This type of misinformation is why America is not building nuclear plants and attempting to rely on the most inefficient electric generating - solar. This is embarrassing
Let’s hope Canada funds this group way better than the rest of the military which is shameful
The USS Parche has a secret or two about sitting on the ocean floor
Sad. But everything has its time
Close range battle Battleship:really?
On the intake you add the design I was creating with the augurs and robotics scraping arms then you can throw your waist in there and have robotic scraping arms and extruder systems to extrude back out to you in each element at it's boiling point. Yeah before it goes into the components that can't handle the particulate the particular is removed and redistributed.
Go Navy
Ironically they're coming back.
Amen🙏 Alleluya🙏🙏 Amazing👍 👌🙏
Too bad. Too expensive to keep.
👎👎👎 uav odong odong yg mudah di tembak jatuh oleh rudal iran, dn houti
The Iowa class was a post-treaty design
Yemen just destroyed it😂😂
Water can't be compressed, so why is it important to equalize the pressure once it's been flooded?
carrier for conquerer weak country without missile/rocket capability
Ship to a small port town and connect the power plant to the grid.
What a pointless explanation. Carrier is for projecting a super power beyond its border globally, not to protect the border. Soviet or Russian is not capable of (technologically) designing and building advanced aircraft carrier, that is the reason. Russian has the Pacific to flex its muscle if their Navy is good enough...forget about Baltic and Black sea.
And it is so stupid to think that a Russian submarine will be safer than a surface ship in the Baltic sea and Black sea just because you can not see them with your bare eyes.
This guy is talking rubbish !!!!! Its fresh water not sea water that cools the reactor. Its called the primary loop.
Russian submarine more deathliest then u.s
A "somewhat risky situation" indeed!
Couple of documentaries on Vietnam explain that when you ejected a few Pilots actually broke their back and were paralyzed from the waist down many of them broke their legs
Cool stuff!
😂😂😂 nice joke white
Yo who tryna buy this wit me
I know it's Russian... but it's still a beautiful piece of technology.
Lol. Moronic video. Alfa class.
Listen to his opening sentence. Fuk right off with you bias opion
Submarines are amazing technology.
Every day!!!!
200 300 500 😅😅😅 in the ocean yes in the movies 🎬........
The speed is 11.4 million homeless or endangered personnel and how many incarcerated with how many more covered in guns saying your hands are tied to hit me up for more than the 36 million dollars that's already been extorted from me with my kids brother vehicle house equipment supplies and right to peaceful sleep or awake time with everyone else because of some plausible deniability scam on money. My first thought that was it would be cool to have them be submarines that you were driving the rocket around.
more russian propaganda....?
😂 suuuure thing bud
And if that wasn’t enough, now we got the Chinese and Iranians pumping out 🐂 💩 by the tons
metric system, do you speak it?
Knots is the nautical term.
Japan tsunami in 2011 at is max height was 40mt .... from a estimated 9million MT of energy ! ....It would take an asteroid strike to get up tp 500mt as Russia claim this weapon can create ! .... Propananda BS from Russia as usual !
USS Batfish literally sank 3 submarines in 76 hours.
Did not tell the whole thing the Norwegians have encased the sub in concrete box to prevent mercury from leaching out of the sub remaines
Great News
I like the idea of a nuclear reactor power a submarine and all of the benefits of stealth and extended time in service under water. After the horse we used steam engines in cars, trains, and boats, not so good in submarines. We did however find a way to power submarines on steam. The water cools a nuclear reactor. Some becomes steam. The steam runs everything. So the end even modern ships and submarines are just a different type of steam engine. It runs on nuclear decay instead of coal. Smokeless until it isn't working then it gets really rally smokey but not the kind you want.
Clickbait
As a U.S. Navy submarine veteran, I can neither confirm nor deny that your title statement is completely wrong and knew of a least 5 people that could explain how many they have witnessed. Also, you can't fire a torpedo unless you are submerged.

they wants to gain money telling bullshit
Ukraine made Slava Class to a submarine. That is true magic.
wtf are you talking about, the french aircraft carrier goes in maintenance every 5 or 10 years not every years...
you gotta love dollar presses
Now if someone would invent a smarter way of turning heat into electricity than using a big noisy turbine...
A billion dollar fighter jet that needs to tow a decoy physically with a cable. Money well spent 😂 🤣😅
Because they are poor as fuc...
Aircraft carriers are becoming obsolete
